The PRAWN suit is incredibly durable and has the deepest depth (I think) without any upgrades. With the claw arm and the drill arm you can kill small predators as well as pick things up without leaving the PRAWN. The jump jet one is a good one to have. The rest aren't needed but are very nice to use, as well as the option to change arm types. The Prawn suit is sturdy, and packs enough of a punch to make aggressive creatures flee. If a creature is attacking your Prawn, deck it in the face a couple times and it will retreat. Depends on what you are playing on, always take jump Jet but if you are playing on console I wouldnt recmmend sling shoting because you may glich in some textures. Jet jump will get you out from everything but grapple will make you move faster. My arms are the regular one and propulsion arm while having grapple and drill in my storage.

I only ever used 1 grapple arm and after I get the jump upgrade I never needed it again. Never saw the usefulness of it except in certain early areas or if you enjoy using the Prawn suit for whatever reason. The PRAWN Suit is THE most FUN vehicle in the game. You do not need the grappler arm to get a lot of use out of the PRAWN Suit. You can surmount ALMOST any surface hill / slope / cliff / ravine with just the built in jump jets, even though you may have to search around for a bit to find a workable pathway.
