There's also a mod I've recently started to test called "Less Irrelevance Mod", but I'm unsure if it really adds to the late game. What it does is essentially allow empires who are inferior or pathetic, who has neighbors that are superior (could be player, could be AI, on either end) to catch up by raiding the other for minerals or tech, giving ...

Performance is also better because, the galaxy simply has less pops, and less time in the game. 100 years of “end game lag” is much easier to deal with then 200 years. Furthermore, the AI will have less pops at 2300 then 2400, thus the whole galaxy is smaller and runs better. Unfortunately, end game micro is still a problem but using ... Azor May 28, 2020 @ 9:53pm. Normally the Prethoryn and Contingency are limited to 50+ years after end-game, but that is dependent on the "default_endgame_early_start_triggers" flag. I don't think it's 1-to-1 though. Like 5x the default settings would get you an early game of 2200-2700, mid-game of 2700-3200, and end game of 3200-3700.
