The primary thing I think was they reduced the amount of the carry melt treatment a little. The basic difference between Series II and pre-series II (like yours) is the Series II guns have a Swartz firing pin safety.

Weight is not an issue with a good holster and belt set up. Without the right gear, you are going to have carry problems regardless of whether the frame is aluminum alloy or steel. As for caliber, I personally prefer the .45 ACP. With the right mags, the Pro Carry II 9mm is fine; however, it's not for me.I have a Pro CDP as well as an Ultra Raptor and Ill be darned if I feel the Ultra shoots better than the Pro. I am sure someone else would problably shoot the Pro better than the Ultra. It does not matter all that much really, they both shoot very, very, well. I carry them both.
