Terrain Mastery: As horizon walkers travel, they gain a mystical connection with the very ground they walk on. At each level, they add a new terrain environment to their repertoire from those given below. Terrain mastery gives a horizon walker a bonus on checks involving a skill useful in that terrain, or some other appropriate benefit.

Horizon Walker is the most tricky ranger to find a good level to multiclass out of IMO. Level 9 gives you Haste Level 10 sucks. Level 11 gives you an amazing subclass feature. Level 12 gives you ASI, and if you went either CE/SS or SS/Alert as I like to do it, or you didn't play a vhuman, you need the ASI to max DEX.Horizon Walker is perfectly serviceable as a Ranger archetype... and with a decent build can be a strong mid-ranged damage dealer, or possibly a decent mobile front-liner. Haste is a wonderful spell addition to the Ranger chassis, and pairs well with Hunter's Mark. The variant Favored Foe actually works well with Planar Warrior since both are ...

You could go a bit more interesting perhaps though to capitalize on the Close-range nature of the Horizon walker. Normal Longbow Ranger, Sharpshooter and Archery is fairly self-explanatory. Heavy Crossbow Ranger with Crossbow Expert and Sharpshooter can also work, though it's worth noting that requires an extra feat for little benefit. Starting my first DnD game as a player later this month. I'm starting as a level 3 horizon walker ranger and am considering to multiclass along the way as a rune knight fighter. I think this would be a fun, interesting build, but have no idea yet how it is mechanically going to work out.ZanThrax. • 11 yr. ago. I don't know about it being a particularly good archer build, but Guide 7 / Sniper 3 / Horizon Walker 10 isn't too shabby as a switch hitter build. I have a level 5 wood elf horizon walker. Currently rolling with a Dragonborn lore bard and a half elf moon druid. I just found a blink dog blade and a magic longbow with a glyph that I need to identify but it will be my main weapon. Also have two shortswords. I am looking for opinions, tips, ideas, good spells and help to build a max dps ... The Horizon Walker "Distant Strike" feature also lets you teleport 10 feet prior to each attack, and you get one more attack when you hit at least 2 enemies with this. That gives you a total of 4 attacks (normal, extra, distant strike, haste) and possible 160 feet of movement in around without taking opportunity attacks due to mobile.6 days ago · The Horizon Walker 5e is a type of Ranger that interacts with the multiverse, perhaps hunting tricky foes across different planes or seeking to preserve the balance between worlds. In battle, they can zip around the battlefield, dishing out extra damage. Whether you’re gearing up for a multiversal campaign or just want a class that’s simple ... Rogue is always a good multiclass for ranger! Cleric would also be a good choice, as would druid. Probably will want to wait until 11th level Ranger (for Distant Strikes, which really is the iconic Horizon Walker feature) for multiclassing, or 12th level for that ASI as a general rule for whatever you decide to dip into. Having played a horizon walker and an echo knight, I'll say right off the bat this will be a difficult build to utilise all the skills due to bonus actions; the core damage feature for horizon walkers utilises your bonus action every turn to do extra force damage, and the Echo Knight has to use a bonus action to create their duplicate. Horizon Walker Ranger Features; Horizon Walker Ranger Ability Scores; Horizon Walker Ranger Races; Horizon Walker Ranger Feats; Horizon Walker Ranger Weapons; Horizon Walker Ranger Armor; Multiclassing; Example Build – Extraplanar Gunner. Ability Scores; Race; Background; Skills and Tools; Feats; Levels; DisclaimerHorizon Walker more than any other Ranger is what makes me lament the loss of Shield on Forge Cleric; it'd have been an excellent boon to this build. Any type of Wizard would give you access to stuff like Shield and Find Familiar, as well as Arcane Recovery to stretch out your low level spell slot stamina throughout an adventuring day.

Horizon Walker doesn't synergize with Monk well, because it's about making a single powerful attack and Monk is about stacking lots of small attacks, it would be great for Rogue. Remember you can only benefit from 1 "Extra Attack" so you only ever want to take 1 class to lvl 5 or that will be a dead level the 2nd time you take it.

The Horizon Walker also, given its magical quality starts off knowing more spells, just a smidge more than the Ranger subclasses in the Player's Handbook. This is actually a common theme among the Ranger subclasses in Xanathar's Guide. It's likely this build could be improved significantly. I delayed entry into Horizon Walker to get the build a Swift Action studied target (Slayer 7), which I actually think is pretty crucial for action economy, especially since your higher level goal is to be doing full attack actions. Higher levels I'd tailor based on the needs of the campaign.

Apr 10, 2020 · I would say take the first 5 levels ranger. Then take either two levels of druid or three of rogue. Scout and assassin would work well for your concept.
