Starting this new character, I'm rushing for the Estoc. It's amazing. It's one of if not the best weapon right now (rivaled by I believe the Sunlight Straight Sword and the Dark Sword). You have low stamina costs. A decent C/C scaling with refined. A great move set.Ideas? I love the Estoc move set, its practically the Balder Swag Swords dumber cousin. The mage is primarily designed as a DPS build so in order to defeat certain bosses you may have to swallow your pride and summon NPC phantoms to help tank some of the boss's aggro. Always be well aware of your environment. Try to outsmart foes. Play tactically. Other than that, all I can say is happy maging.

For pve I'd say the estoc definitely, the better range and the horizantal slash on the one handed R2 will help a lot. For pvp it depends, the rapier has higher critical damage but the estoc has higher base damage, making it a better choice for turtling. Regular rapier, you won't be disappointed. Maybe even permanent infusion, depending on your build. Sorcery is great fun in DaS2, check out a hex build, too. Ricard's has the quick multi-thrust WA, which is excellent with bleed or powerful weapon buff builds, stacks up damage really quick. Melts bosses, really hard to hit in pvp though.
