The 2nd problem can be fixed after the IMEI problem is fixed. Verizon fixes the 1st problem for their users by assigning a SIM card to the IMEI regardless of the whitelist status. The solution for other MVNO's is to sim swap with your old phone. Unfortunately, Total Wireless does not allow SIM swaps. So I don't see a Total Wireless solution.
