Don't merge any zomblin statues at all they will eventually all turn to zomblins on their own. Allow the dragons to kill all zomblins and capture some life orbs to help. There's no risk of all your land being killed by the zomblins. I think it was Prism rift 2 that I just did and was able to get 2 level 3 graves.
