I have a well used '07 foreman 4x4 I bought used. I had a local shop rebuild the carb, change peckock switch, install fuel filter, and change plug. I bring it home, park it in the garage and next day garage smells like someone dumped a gallon of fuel on the floor and walked off. I checked everywhere and can't see any signs of leaks.

Loosen up the screws that hold the carb on, turn your carb so you can get to the bottom of it, remove the 4 screws that hold the bowl on, once its off, take carb cleaner and spray the area where the float is real good.New fuel pump assembly. New gasket for the fuel pump. Removal tool to get the old one off and the new one installed. (One time purchase). Both times I've ridden about 4-5 miles then it starts sputtering and acts like it wants to die. Plug on a car typically should be brownish. I think these might run more on the blackish mark, but if it's a real dark black it would indicate it is running rich which could explain the back fire. Definately shouldn't be wet (sign of plug fouling). As for the filter.
