Arma heli controls aren't too bad. DayZ SA definitely made cars harder than Arma by making them manual, but I'd be surprised if they do anything too stupid with helis (such as Arma 3's advanced flight model). There is a learning curve, and it will never be Battlefield easy. But you can master them just fine with keyboard and mouse.

BFM teaches you that throttle doesn't matter, in AFM throttle matters at every speed even you are flying straight. It takes far more concentration and skill to fly AFM.
