As an example, from what I can tell, everywhere undergound is considered both Cavern and Surface for fishing. Looking at the priority table on the wiki, Cavern is pretty low on the priority list.

The start was, obviously, very painful, but once you understand the awareness and the ways to prevent it, then it becomes a pretty unique experience. The combination of all seed's niche's together does make up for it. I havn't tried the remix seed, but I think it could fit for a similair, although a bit less diverse, experience.
