It is my great honor to bring you SMIM textures for 2022, and with great thanks and reverence to Brumbek for creating one of the best mods for Skyrim ever, and for granting me permission to release this mod for everyone. The original SMIM textures were a mix of 1K, 2K and 4K (if using the High-Res options in the custom install, otherwise … SMIM is a massive overhaul of the 3D models of hundreds of objects in Skyrim, started by Brumbek in 2012. I have processed the textures using AI upscale technology and converted it with texture compression methods for improved visual quality and performance. I used Whimsical for ages because it covered so much but then some of the newer "SMIM's" came out with updated furniture and fixes that Whimsical just didn't have. In my experience, is not performance intensive at all... I mean, I never noticed FPS drops with only SMIM, but yes with other mods (Like, Simply Bigger Trees, 3D Trees, Any grass mod, etc.). Smim 1k is a solid choice no matter what load order your using. friendly smim is also great although it was designed with clevercharff in mind it still works great with other retextures.
