This week, SiriusXM announced a series of changes to its lineup of music channels. The additions include channels devoted exclusively to the oeuvres of Kelly Clarkson and John Mayer, one made up of old-school Latin music, and one each focusing on R&B and hip-hop hits from the 2000s and 2010s.

The only channels I listen to regularly are Conan, Deep Tracks and Underground Garage. Plus the 60s on 6 and AT40 countdowns. It's absurd that they have 3 or 4 channels of almost identical generic classic rock. (Classic Vinyl, etc.) I can listen to that on terrestrial radio with much better sound quality.

But more importantly, Sirius XM uses satellites. It will (almost always) work in the middle of nowhere. Using your phone, you are relying on your cell provider's network.
