Oh, I agree, but every incarnation of the d20 system has had exploitative builds which can unbalance gameplay. It is fair to try to avoid those builds so mutual enjoyment can be had by those at the table. If you have one hyper-optimized character using said mechanics it makes balancing encounters insanely difficult.
