Next, we installed the new Lectron Downdraft Carburetors. With the same jets as Bills old carbs, the engine ran lean. This is good. It wants more fuel. It went pretty well. The only issue was that the idle was set quite high from the factory so it wouldn’t start with the 1/4 turn of throttle as instructed. I’ve adjusted it down and it seems to be fine. First ride tomorrow. My brother has a 650R as well, with a nice-running stock carb. It went pretty well.
