Wanted to share that I also had an issue with the loading gate and hammer - both were bent/warped. I was able to hammer the loading gate flatter but no luck with the hammer. I would check alignment between the cylinder and the barrel before firing. Pull the hammer to position 2, and spin the cylinder through at least 3 times to ensure it is unloaded, pull the hammer all the way back, and look down the barrel. If alignment is good, you shouldn't have any issues firing the gun. 2.
