Man this issue drove me up the fucking wall. Its caused by anytime your audio driver disconnects, whether it be a short in the wiring or manual disconnection. You must restart the client to get the sound back. Only way to remedy this is with a virtual sound device (which cannot disconnect unless it crashes, which doesn't really happen).Right click on Windows sound icon in taskbar and choose sounds. go afterwards to the communications tab and choose "do nothing". as shown in my screenshot.
