Hi, I am wondering how AARP calculates the month to determine the 5 per month gift card purchasing. Is it Mar 1-31 considered a month, April 1-30, etc or does AARP count the 30 days from your last gift card purchase as the 30 day mark?From my understanding I can only add an AARP gift card amount to my OBC when I am on board the ship. For example, I have $149.17 left to pay for my cruise. I buy a $500 AARP Princess Gift card and use it to pay the rest of my balance for my cruise. So this leaves $350.83 left on the gift card.It’s now 3/2024. I purchased 5 gift cards on May 30 and immediately went to apply the cards to my cruise balance. Four cards worked just fine, the last did not and subsequently showed a $0 balance. I spent the next four hours on the phone with AARP, Princess Customer Service and the 3rd party Gift Card Support.
I have been on a couple of cruises and love them. I believe getting the drink package is well worth it if you plan on drinking. Also, not going on excursions gives you a lot more room in the pool. Look over the itinerary every night so that you don't miss anything. Enjoy!

I then sent a follow-up and explained that I have never had a problem using AARP issued cards with other TAs as well as directly with the cruise line.
