I'm still confident this will be released this year, what I don't know is "when". I wouldn't be surprised if it's after Zelda release, or even if the Zelda game is cross-gen in the end with Metroid Prime 4. And it's been 5 years since the last 3D Mario game. It makes sense to me that game to be prepared for the successor, and it's about time.

Some thoughts: i've done the spirit temple and wind temple so far, depths mostly unexplored. Characterization and cutscenes have less charm than BotW so far, and i don't think zelda is as likeable. The story is much more interesting for sure, but i think i already have a solid grasp on the events from watching a couple cutscenes.About the DS ones: Phantom Hourglass is a dumbed down Wind Waker, while Spirit Tracks is good original fun with some amazing dungeons, bosses and lovable story/characters.
