I consider the LCP to be more of a point shooting/face gun to stop an immediate threat. My LCP is also a Gen2 model, so the trigger and sights are easier for to to control than the older model. What I like more about the G42 is the Glock Safe Action System, and also because the slide locks back after the last round is fired.

It is much larger and only holds 6 rounds. The LCP Max is significantly smaller in every dimension, but holds 10 or 12! The 42 is almost like shooting a .22lr compared to the recoil of the smaller LCP, but since my only real accuracy issue is along the vertical axis and that only an inch or so at 7 yards.
