Apr 16, 2023 · 2012 JKU runs hot at highway speeds. I have a 2012 JK doesn't overheat but runs hotter than normal at highway seeds. Replaced thermostat radiator water pump and new factory fan .. Even bought that funnel system for purging the air. Also checked for exhaust gasses in the fluid. Several time's. Water Pump Failure: A leaking water pump will result in a drop in the coolant level. but when it actually causes your Jeep Wrangler Overheating, it is more likely to be due to a failure of the water pump. The pump is driven by the timing belt which means when there is a problem with one of them, you are likely to have problems with the other one. With that said the JKs do run a but hot (210-226) in my case depending on ambient and load. @Youssefsaafan One other thing you may want to consider is if you are running the most up to date software. Low on power and running rough after warming up. My 98 TJ with the 2.5l has been acting up lately. It seems to run pretty normal when cold, but a few minutes after reaching normal running temp, it gradually seems to idle rougher and rougher, it's low on power and there's a drop in oil pressure.
