It's a real organization. There are scholarships available if you qualify. There are other member benefits and perks which I don't need or use, so I can't speak to them. I do enjoy the additional leadership courses, networking events, and speaker broadcasts though. I probably log into the site once every few months to see what's new.

Is NSLS a scam? I keep getting mail from them saying I’ve been selected to join. Sounds sketchy. If anything says congrats and then proceeds to ask for money/subscription, then yes. It's a scam a friend got an invite a year ago, but knew it was BS since he had 2.7 GPA at the time.

There is no benefit in this for online people. I literally just used my work meetings to fulfill this requirement.
