Generally it's not worth it to take a bandage off, the healing rate of a dirty vs clean bandage is very similar. I use Sandbox+ as well as hide infected moodlet. I took a laceration that quickly killed me through (I assume) infection, but I couldn't see it as the moodlet is hidden (I like suspance).
