The engine has developed a very loud ticking, sounds like its coming from the drivers side. At times you also hear a thumping noise that sounds like its coming from towards the front of the engine.The noise is not audible at idle or deceleration, only upon acceleration or when cursing down the highway. It seems to be loudest when the engine is hot 90+. Just Bought the truck and have previously owned a couple doge cummins. They were loud but they hummed along rhythmically not this random clacking and ticking.i have been hearing the clicking/ticking noise when the truck is idling on the drivers side. seems like it has been coming from the fenderwell and underneath the truck. it does not do all the time and does not have a rythem to it at all. i havent crawled up under it yet to look at it either.

Pop-off pressures are (don't quote me on this) around 1300-1700lbs. for most diesel engines IIRC, so they can get a little noisy, especially when it's cold out.

Sounds like it coming from oil filter location. it does not do it all the time, just kinda comes and goes. I used 10 qts of Rotella T and a ACDelco filter.
