Actually there are two valid points why one would want to re-roll a Derelict Freighter: Class S upgrades quality: It is true that a Class S upgrade will always give Class S, but for the most important, i.e. warp LY and fuel efficiency, come with two additional stats and it's unlikely to find both of the same maxed out (hence wanting to re-roll) There are 2 kinds of derelicts,,, the one you found are just derelict freighters which have most the time 2 pods which you may loot.
