Well-known member. Mostly shoot my newer DSA or Century built FALs but this is one of my older FALs that I still shoot, this Pacific Armament Corp rifle is built with a Imbel receiver. Modified now with a Magpul adjustable stock, DSA scope top cover base and a 4-16 power scope. A previous owner put the Krinkov style muzzle brake on it.These kits have high sights, early selector markings and a C1 type slotted flash hider. Germany had a number of small design changes made to the FAL rifle before they adopted what in 1956 became the G1 Fal. None of those changes are present in these rifle kits. The tape will make it want to flex so tighten the bolts on the wrench again. Be careful that you are not out on the end of the gas nut area but back as far as you can be on the lobe that engages the that area. Force is subjective without a torque wrench. If you aren't spinning the barrel in the vice you should be ok.

Be careful. the top add says 9/16-24 tpi (doesn't say right or left hand) and the bottom one has 5/8-24 RH threads which is the one you want. I have one of those barrels but I've had it 12 years. Everything FN - FAL, 5.7, PS90, FS2000, High Power, Bolt Actions, SCAR etc.I believe you can go 2 ways to make a CA legal FAL. Either keep the detachable mag and remove the pistol grip and flash suppressor (and keep it over 30") OR you can fix a 10 round mag. And the only thing that you will be registering is the receiver.
