May as well clean the EGR ports and passages while you're at it and change the PCV valve. I had my oil/oil filter, air filter, and VTM-4 oil changed. I'm just seeing this thread for the first time, but I was going to comment that it could either be a failure in the VTM-4 system OR a different failure that has disabled the VTM-4 system causing the light to illuminate. In your case, it was obviously the latter.
