Then remove the pin and clean It and study how it travels in the bolt raceway and what stops it. Make sure the hammer isn't hitting the receiver on either side. Then if you are still getting poor strikes and ftf,you can file the pin to reshape the tip area,or the stop lug, don't change the overall length. Nice bunch of 39A's.

1947 Marlin 39a firing pin broken. Hello, well I went to take down my 39A to look at my broken ejector and when I picked up the rifle I saw a small piece of metal in the case. I picked it up and new where it belonged right away. It was the end of the firing pin.

On top of that, it barely clears the bolt face. A new pin ordered from Brownells. The pin was listed as "post 1974" so I was not concerned. Duly delivered and it doesn't fit! On closer looking it doesn't resemble the pin it's supposed to replace. Likewise, the pin in the 39A doesn't resemble the pin in my '73 vintage 39M or even my 1897!
