Value should be 0.11 - 0.17 ohm (1-ohm scale). Start the bike and measure the voltage on across the same white wires and it should be 54V or more (250v scale). Vulcan Clutch Problem. 2002 kawasaki vulcan 800 classic. ok, I've read alot of threads on this but nothing helps. My bike runs very well after warming up. The bike pops thru the carb and yes it's thru the carb. When I got the bike it leaked gas into the crankcase (all of it the gas). After rebuild it runs like a badass but still pops at low rpms.The bike is a 2001 VN800 Classic and the previous owner said the bike was idling and then while he was strapping his helmet on the bike died. He took it to the place where he bought it and they pulled the plugs, said they put a camera inside and they claim the motor sucked a valve. The bike has 22,000 mi. and looks very well taken care of.The ability of the petcock to seal off the fuel when the motor isnt running is a petock problem. Jumping out of second gear is usually the result of worn gear dogs in combination with a bent shifting fork. Kawasaki's can sometimes be a little balky on the 1-2 shift and if you have a heel/toe shifter, it is soooo easy to give the old heel a stomp and then ugly things happen inside the transmission.Possible voltage regulator problem.
