2019 gmc acadia rear brake service mode.

I've found some conflicting information, so am posting here in hopes that I can figure this out. I'm going to be replacing the pads and rotors on the rear of my 2018 Equinox with an electric parking brake. Do I need to put the EPB into service mode to do this, and if so how is that done?
